The Community Racing Challenge is a totally new concept in Charitable
Fundraising, Race Car Sponsorships, and Community Event & Team
Building.
In these tough economic times, the CRC provides local charities and
non-profits a new, fun, affordable way to generate funds for their good
causes.
The CRC also provides a very cost, effective way for area businesses to
reach out to their community and become involved in a positive program
which will elevate your companies name recognition, expose your company
to the most customer loyal demographic in sports, and give you the
opportunity to experience big-time racing sponsorship without the
normal costs.
Best of all, the Community Racing Challenge is a non-profit organization so your sponsorship efforts are tax deductible.
We are racing for a cause.
We would like to invite your company to participate in our 2007 Community Racing Challenge Series at Springport Speedway.
The Community Racing Challenge Series of Events will be held every
Saturday Night from April 28th through September 16th at Springport
Motor Speedway in Springport, Mi. Springport Motor Speedway is a
state-of-the-art facility constructed in the early 80's with a total
capacity approaching 7500.
The Community Racing Challenge mission statement is : To provide
meaningful support to local non-profit organizations in the form of
fundraising and team building events which will not only foster new
interest in local short track racing, but enhance the relationship
between drivers, owners, local businesses and the citizens of our
community.
The Community Racing Challenge was founded in 2007 as a non-profit
association dedicated to providing local non-profit organizations a
valuable form of fundraising through a unique team building event.

long love affair with racing cumulated with the acquisition of a race
car in 2006 and the formation of LSR Racing. Patrick’s rookie season at
Spartan ended with a 13th place in the standings and earned
Rookie-of-the-Year honors in the division, while his rookie season at
Springport Motor Speedway ended with a 5th place finish in the
standings.
The Community Racing Challenge Racing Director is Mike Guerity. Mike
Guerity is a Lansing native, graduated from Michigan State with a
Degree in Communications. An accomplished racer, Mike has raced on the
NASCAR level, most recently running ARCA with three Top-5 finishes

The process is simple... the Communityr Racing Challenge will put your
host organization leader or representative (think: High School Football
coach, Minister, Band Teacher, President of Lyons club, Cheerleading
Coach, Principle, Chair of Local United Way, ect...) into one of our
six similarly prepared Front Wheel Driver Race Cars and they'll compete
against each other in an 8 lap "featured heat".
Each driver is provided an SA racing rated helmet, fire proof driver's
jacket & pants, racing gloves and shoes. These are fully prepared
race cars (full safety cage, racing seat, racing belts) but they are
not super fast with a top speed around 70 mph. All cars feature an
automatic transmissions and are Front Wheel Drive... so they are very
easy to drive.
There is a special practice held for CRC drivers on the Thursday before
each race. The Community Racing Challenge's Director of Racing will
work with your organization’s representative driver to instruct them on
basic race fundamentals and procedures.
The driver follows this off track instruction with some on track seat
time, hot lapping the car in a controlled environment without anyone
watching to get comfortable in the car and gain valuable pre-race
experience.
On the afternoon & evening your event is hosted, you will arrive at
the track between 2pm and 4pm. At 4pm there is an open practice, races
start at 7:30pm and the entire program will be finished by 11pm.
It is a great community and team building event, it gives a couple of
select volunteers from your organization a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to experience racing first hand while providing a special
and unique experience to the members and peers in your network. It also
gives your non-profit/charity the opportunity to address a broad
audience to reinforce your non-profit/charity's mission.
